Skiing and Riding

Cat skiing with Valhalla Powdercats is a life-altering experience.

Valhalla is a Norse word referring to a warrior's heaven - and heaven is an apt word for these majestic mountains of South Eastern BC.

A part of the Selkirk Mountains, the Valhalla's boast massive granite mountains supporting lush forests of ancient white pine, larch, red cedar and western hemlock, roaring rivers, waterfalls and abundant wildlife. More importantly, in the Valhalla's snow quality and quantity is like none other on earth!

We use two snowcats in our 21,500 acres of terrain each carrying 12 guests and 2 guides. Regardless of weather, the snowcats allow us to ride limitless fresh lines all day - everyday.

We typically clock 7 to 13 runs or 13,000 to 18,000 ft of vertical per day. Runs vary from 1200 - 3000 ft, taking advantage of the best snow and fun factor available on the mountain each day. Rides up in our comfortable, heated snowcats vary from 5 to 30 minutes - just long enough to laugh, enjoy the music and our plentiful homemade lunches, snacks and hot or cold beverages.

Our runs are consistent, uninterrupted fall line descents welcoming to both skiers and riders. As we cater strictly to stronger skiers and riders - our groups turn out to be very compatible on the mountain.

Our friendly and energetic guides are highly experienced and professionally trained. They are all avid skiers or riders who know where to find the best lines each day. You will be trained in backcountry safety and avalanche beacon use prior to your first day. You will be expected to work as team for both safety and to maximize our skiing potential each day.
